Willie Nelson Says He’s Quit Smoking Weed, Cites Breathing Troubles

Willie Nelson has done the unthinkable…he’s quit smoking weed, Page Six reports. The 86-year-old recently told a San Antonio radio station that he’s “abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful.” He adds, “I don’t smoke anymore–[I] take better care of myself.” The country icon has long been known as a pot smoker in the class of Snoop Dogg and has allegedly even smoked on the roof of the White House. Nelson’s toking also inspired a song by Toby Keith called, “I’ll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again,” which was written in in tribute to the potency of his stash. While Willie has also credited pot with saving his life in the past, he was forced to suspend his tour back in August due to what he called a “breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out.”
