Minneapolis Police have released the identity of the suspect who is believed to be behind a string of six bank robberies, including one in Alexandria. According to the news release, 37-year old William Manuel Villanueva, who has no listed address, was arrested in connection with two bank robberies in Minneapolis on Aug. 12 and Aug. 24. During the investigation, detectives learned that there were six bank robberies throughout Minnesota and one in Wisconsin, all using the same method of robbery and the same suspect description. The robbery in Alexandria was on August 29th at the Affinity Credit Union. The Alexandria Police Department assisted in the investigation.
