Not many cities shut down a street for trick or treating, but the Alexandria Council has given the green light. Douglas Street will be closed on Halloween. This has been an ongoing tradition for the past several years when 30 neighbors with young kids collaborated for a safe and fun experience. It has since expanded to all kids in Alexandria to enjoy. Last year during the pandemic over 800 kids visited one house, another logged 2,000!
