Someone’s Trying to Trademark the Phrase “Breakfast Burrito”

On November 27, an unidentified individual from Los Angeles filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the phrase “breakfast burrito.” As Eater notes, “Claiming ownership over the breakfast burrito is like saying you invented a cheese sandwich.” Hence, this trademark is about as likely to get granted as when LeBron James (intentionally) failed to trademark the phrase “Taco Tuesday.” Then again, Paris Hilton managed to trademark the phrase, “That’s hot,” so maybe there’s hope.
