Authorities in Wadena County are continuing their search for an inmate who escaped from custody Monday afternoon. The Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr said Ryan Paul Petro escaped custody during a transition to a court appearance. The sheriff’s office said Petro is dressed in an orange shirt and is handcuffed. He was last seen in the area of Colfax Avenue SE in Wadena. Petro had been in custody since September 28, 2019 for Misdemeanor Obstructing Legal Process, Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, Misdemeanor Damage to Property, Misdemeanor Fleeing on Foot and Felony Conditions of Release- 1st Degree Burglary. Petro is considered dangerous and should not be approached, the sheriff’s office said. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
