A Red (or unhealthy) Index Air Quality Alert is still in effect for all of the region for fine particle pollution due to the Canadian wildfire. It’s been in effect Thursday, August 17th,  through Friday, August 18th at 11 p.m. Some members of the general public may experience health effects. Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including asthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, may experience health effects.

Officials say you may want to limit your time outdoors if you are sensitive to the smoke.
