A prayer vigil was held Sunday Evening alongside Whipple Lake in Baxter for last week’s medical helicopter crash victims, their families and emergency services community. The flight abruptly crashed as it returned to the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport on Friday, killing two of the three people on board. Lost in the crash were Pilot Tim McDonald and Flight Nurse Deb Schott. Paramedic Josh Duda is in the hospital and remains in critical condition. The cause of the deadly helicopter crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
