With freezing cold temperatures lingering week after week, there is a danger of pipes freezing and causing bursts. You do not want this problem! Brian, the manager of Water Distribution at ALP, has tips how to best prevent frozen water pipes:
“Pipes are most susceptible to freezing when they are located in an outside wall, under a cabinet, or a crawl space that is subject to the freezing outdoor temps.”
Ways you can prevent this from happening:
- Open cabinet doors to allow heat from the room to reach these pipes.
- Wrap a problem pipe with heat tape or insulate a problem pipe with foam insulation.
These extra precautions could save a lot of money on costly repairs! Thank you ALP!
