Quick action led to the apprehension of a man who was preying on a middle school student at Minnewaska Area Middle School. Christian James Mackson, age 29, had traveled from Dayton Ohio to Glenwood MN for the sole purpose of seeking out a student he met online. The student’s parents alerted the school that there was inappropriate contact with their child through online video games, texting and on zoom.
Roughly two weeks later the man arrived at the school, and the staff immediately contacted law enforcement about an unknown male at the school. He was apprehended at a local hotel and investigators found enough evidence to charge him with a felony for electronic attempt to engage in sexual activity with a minor. Pope County Law Enforcement take all tips of exploitation of youth seriously and continue to collaborate diligently to protect the community.
