The Minnesota Zoo has announced a new feline addition. A male Canada lynx kitten was born at the zoo on May 12, but had spent the previous two months being cared for by his mother. On Wednesday, the kitten took his first steps into the Lynx Habitat, according to a release from the Zoo. The Minnesota Zoo now is home to three Canada lynx. The state used to have the most lynx in the Great Lakes region, but numbers dropped to near zero in the 1980s. The zoo said only recently has there been an increase in the population in the area.
