A Minnesota couple died one day apart after being married for 68 years, according to CNN. Corinne Johnson, 87, passed away on November 24, and her husband Robert died on November 25 at the age of 85. Their son doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that his parents died so close together; Robert said that he couldn’t imagine life without his wife. “They both knew what was coming and they didn’t have any fear,” said their son. The couple met early in life because Robert was Corinne’s brother’s best friend. Robert became a farmer and the couple raised seven children. They lived independently until moving into an assisted-living facility in May. Their family has established a fund in their memory at the Lutheran church they attended throughout their marriage.
