Man Wins $30,000 From Lottery Ticket Rejected by Friend

A 23-year old man from Eldersburg, Maryland, won a $30,000 jackpot from a scratch-off ticket that he only purchased after his friend refused to buy one, UPI reports. The man told Maryland lottery officials that he’d encouraged his pal to purchase the $3 Skee-Ball scratch-off, but “he told me he didn’t like Skee-Ball because he never hit on it,” the man recalled. “Then, he said, ‘You should play it if you think it is a winner.’ I took his advice and now I’m a winner!” The man said he doesn’t even consider himself a lottery player, “so this really shouldn’t have happened to me at all.” He said he plans to buy a new car and gaming computer, and will do something extra special for his mom this Christmas. “I can’t wait to see the look on her face,” he said.
