Lowry Man Apparent Drowning Victim In Lake Burgen

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says a 49-year old Lowry man has died from an apparent drowning on Tuesday evening at the Lake Burgen public access in Alexandria. Deputies responded to a call that a man was submerged in the water and had not resurfaced. His body was recovered approximately 50 feet from shore in about 10 feet of water. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification. The incident remains under investigation. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Douglas County Dive Rescue team, North Ambulance and LifeLink III Air Ambulance.
