For the past 85 years, you could go to the store and buy Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. But later this summer, that won’t be the case.
It has nothing to do with supply chain issues or anything like that. They’re just changing the name to…. “Kraft Mac & Cheese.” Which is what we’ve always called it growing up! Turns out we weren’t the only ones.
Embracing the nickname and rebranding is a fun way to establish it as “comfort food.” Macaroni and cheese is consistently the top three side dishes for any holiday meal, and can be found on lunch and dinner plates year round. At our house, it was lunch favorite and we’d have it every day if our parents let us.
Kraft also says “Mac & Cheese” is meant to “reflect the way fans organically talk about the brand.” Along with the new name, they’re updating the logo, and the color of the box will be tweaked to “amplify . . . the noodle smile.”
So get ready to boil, drain, add milk/butter, stir and serve. The classic, easy and delicious dinner favorite is getting even better!
The new boxes will start hitting shelves in August.
