K9 Ozzy visited Brandon-Evansville third graders yesterday to talk about the role of police K9s in our community! This was K9 Ozzy’s last public demo before his upcoming retirement! He also was the Easter Bunny earlier this month.

The Lakes Area Dog Foundation has a role of educating the public on our local K9 unit. These highly trained, intelligent and loyal four legged law enforcers deserve respect vs. fear. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit was started in 1979. That’s 37 years of service!

Currently there are two K9 partners that patrol Douglas County.
