Jason Aldean Says Returning to Las Vegas Will Be “Emotional” But “Healing”

After Jason Aldean and many others had to endure the nightmare that was the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, the Country star wasn’t sure if he’d ever return to Las Vegas, The Boot reports. During his headlining set on that October night, a single gunman perpetrated the deadliest mass shooting murder spree in U.S. history, killing 59 people and injuring hundreds more. Aldean has been back to the city, but never for a full show…but that’s about to change. On Friday, December 6, Aldean will take the stage at the Park MGM Las Vegas to begin a three night residency. The singer knows that it’ll feel strange to be back, saying “there’s always going to be a little bit of a different vibe, I think, around any show we ever play out there.” Aldean says he’s met a lot of survivors at his shows since, and says those shows turned out to be some of his favorites … and he expects the same on Friday. “It’s probably gonna be an emotional thing for a lot of people, a lot of the fans that are coming. Probably a little bit for us, too, being back out there.” Still, Aldean hopes that, ultimately, the experience will be a healing one for all parties. “I’m excited that we’re going. I think it’ll be good for everybody.”
