U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar was in town yesterday, meeting with Alexandria’s mayor, Bobbie Osterberg, local business owners  Kent Kopp, Pike & Pint Grill; Matthew Jensen, La Ferme Restaurant; and Nicole Fernholz, Executive Director, Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission. They discussed the Restaurants ACT and pandemic relief. Minnesota’s restaurant industry has been hit especially hard during the pandemic, causing 60,000 people to lose their jobs. In response, Klobuchar has been an outspoken supporter of the RESTAURANTS Act, a new grant program providing aid for restaurants. Congress has created the Restaurant Revitalization Fund…a $28.6 billion dollar grant program target at small restaurants.
