Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Shot And Wounded A Man Near Kensington

Authorities say a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a man after an altercation early Tuesday near the West Central Area South Elementary School in Kensington.

The incident was not connected to the school. Three Douglas County deputies and a Grant County deputy were at the scene. One Douglas County deputy discharged his gun. Two Douglas County deputies were treated for injuries at a hospital and released. The man who was shot was hospitalized in St. Cloud. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was asked to investigate.
