A man from Brainerd ended his life after a police chase in Eden Valley on Saturday.

Police tried to stop Thirty-four-year-old Stephen Christ Poissant for speeding and a headlight violation. After a short chase, Poissant exchanged gunfire with officers and was hit with a bullet to his knee. He then shot himself in the head. A gun was recovered at the scene and the incident was captured on squad camera video.

The Officer who fired his weapon is on standard administrative leave as the BCA continues its investigation.
