August 11th Last Day of Disaster Loan Outreach Center

Today, August 11th is the last day to apply in person at the  disaster loan outreach center before it closes. Low interest rates are available to help anyone with damages related to the May 30th tornado and storms. They are located at 1501 Hawthorne St Alexandria from 9am – 4pm. Otherwise you can apply online with a deadline of September 23rd.

In order to ensure every eligible resident knows about very low interest loan options to recover from the May 30 tornado, Douglas County Emergency Management Director Julie Anderson and Public Affairs Specialist Laurie Dana have been reaching out across the county. On Sunday they attended the Forada First Responder breakfast. Remember this loan opportunity is available to all Douglas County residents and those in surrounding counties for uninsured losses to homes, outbuildings and property. The funds can also be used to pay the cost of tree removal. Business owners and nonprofits are also eligible. The Disaster Loan Outreach Center is open through Thursday of this week. It’s at 1501 Hawthorne Street in Alexandria. The hours are 9 to 6.
