Ashby Co-Op Accuses Burnsville Taxidermist of Fraud

The Ashby Farmers Co-op Elevator is suing a Twin Cities taxidermist, claiming they should have realized former elevator manager Jerry Hennessey was improperly paying for mounting trophies using co-op checks. In a civil complaint filed in Grant County District Court in Elbow Lake, Marvin and Betty Gaston, along with their business, Taxidermy Unlimited Inc. of Burnsville, are alleged to have engaged in fraud and unjust enrichment. In a court filing, the Gastons denied all the allegations against them. Jerry Hennessey is serving an eight-year term in federal prison after his conviction earlier this year for embezzling more than $5.4 million from the Ashby Co-op.
