Governor Walz was in Alexandria on September 4th at city park for a DFL fundraising event. His address was abruptly interrupted by protestors in the crowd citing that he said in 2017 that a pipeline wouldn’t happen in Minnesota. Governor Walz asks to speak with them after his address, and you can hear the yelling that they need to answer him now. The situation escalated with protestors being held at bay away from the stage. Nearly two dozen approached the stage carrying maps of the pipeline, and wouldn’t stop yelling and chanting songs as DFL on lookers sat and watched looking appalled. Walz was escorted off of the stage and is seen exiting in a black SUV surrounded by security. He was followed on foot by protesters who continued to chant and yell around the vehicle. The protestors, called Resist Line 3, tweeted the chaos, citing direct action gets the goods!
