Alexandria Man Convicted in Stabbing Incident

An Alexandria Man was convicted of felony assault after stabbing a man in February. 27 year old Derrick James Thorpe, had claimed self defense when interviewed by police. The jury found him guilty. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The victim was treated and released from the hospital for two stab wounds above his collarbone and face from a steak knife.
