Alexandria Days Inn has been shut down for health and safety violations, at least temporarily. Several health and safety concerns were found leading to its closure on July 27th. Bathrooms weren’t cleaned, keys stopped working, floors weren’t vacuumed and it reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke. There was an incident on July 25th, guests had found themselves without any hotel employees on the property. The next morning more guests tried to check in but there were no employees and they couldn’t get into their rooms. A follow up is scheduled for August 5th for the hotel to reach compliance. Horizon Public Health is hopeful they will reopen and says the hotel is cooperating.
