47-Year-Old Alexandria Man Dies During Rollover Crash

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash in LaGrande Township on Saturday around 1:00 pm. Two cars collided on the intersection of Co Rd 40 and Co Rd 8.

Authorities believe a GMC Yukon entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a Dodge Pickup. The vehicles collided and then rolled into the southwest ditch. The pickup was towing a large enclosed trailer.

The driver of the pickup, 47-year-old Robert Kirscht died during the accident. Kirscht was from Brandon Minnesota, and is missed by many. The passenger in the pickup, Jeanine Kirscht was transported to Alomere Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was treated, and released from the hospital.

67-year-old David Thoennes from Alexandria was driving the Yukon alone, he is uninjured.

Garfield Fire Department, Alexandria Fire Department, North Ambulance, and Lifelink III Helicopter all responded to the crash.
