Monday, May 2nd, 2022 – The suspect has been identified in the murder of a 10 year old Chippewa Falls girl. Her cousin, 14 year old Carson Peters-Berger, has been charged with raping and then strangling her to death. He then left her on the bike trail near her aunt’s home, where she was living at the time. Evidence showed that he had planned each step in advance. Peter’s-Berger is being held on one million dollars bail. His father is a convicted sex offender who had possession of child pornography and is currently in prison.

Friday, April 29th, 2022 An arrest made in death of 10-year-old Chippewa Falls girl 90 miles east of the metro. Lilly Peters  went missing 9 pm Sunday night triggering a massive search. The school district superintendent had sent a note to parents recommending children who usually walk to or from school, instead be dropped off and picked up by family members or trusted friends until further notice. A juvenile male that was known to the victim was arrested and taken into custody. It’s not clear how Lily was killed.
