New details have been released by officials in connection to a deadly boating accident that happened Thursday in west-central Minnesota. 

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, two kids were on a tube being pulled by a boat by a Camp Employee on Lake Six when both fell off the tube into the water. One boy was accidentally struck when attempting to pick him back up into the boat.

Life-saving measures were attempted a 13-year-old boy, identified as Benjamin Rennie of the Andover/Coon Rapids area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
